Advance heads up...

March 2, Encore Westerns Channel is showing Lou Costello's 1958 episode of WAGON TRAIN, "The Tobias Jones" Story" (see above). Lou gives a fine performance as a man accused of murder, an alcoholic who doesn't care if he hangs for a crime he didn't commit.

If you don't have Westerns on your cable, it's worth finding someone who can record it for you.

Although we have all 190 shorts uncut on DVD like we've always wanted, I see myself still watching the shorts on TV. Antenna TV, which launched January 1st, now shows the Stooges. I watched a mini-marathon featuring some late Curly's and some Fake Shemps. They repeat again this morning at 6am.
They show a block of shorts on Friday, repeated again on Saturday and Sunday. See the link below for times.

Antenna TV shows old TV shows and movies. Kind of like an old-school Nick @ Nite. They seem to be uncut and they are all commercial-free.

It can be found on digital substations (if you have a digital converter) or on most Digital Cable providers.

I'm watching Three Pests in a Mess now and the Mammy line is intact.

loco, above is a complete list BeAStooge has posted including Antenna TV's schedule. I've been enjoying the Stooges a lot on that channel because they show 3 uninterrupted shorts per hour with commercials in between, unlike AMC & IFC which interrupt each short twice with lengthy commercial breaks & their shameless self-promotions. It was nice on Sunday morning (yesterday) when Antenna was showing Stooges at the same time AMC was. Needless to say, my teevee was tuned to Antenna TV.

Speaking of AMC, their Stooge programming gets worse all the time. This morning, for example, they allotted 15 minutes to the Stooges. They had two 5 minute "minisodes", plus 5 minutes of commercials in between.

Wow, AMC, IFC and Antenna TV are all showing the stooges and are even airing the missing 60! Why didn't they thinking of airing these BEFORE the chronological sets were released by Sony? Before, most of us would've watched them. Now, most of us would rather just watch our DVDs.

I believe it's part of WGN. In Chicago I get it at station 9.2.I still enjoy watching them on TV, even though I have them all on DVD. In Chicago we get them on ME TV every Saturday night for two hours also.

I'm a subscriber to Comcast cable in the Denver area. They just started offering Antenna TV about a month ago. I had never heard of the station before. I don't know if it's something new or Comcast just started carrying it. They never said anything about it being part of WGN, as JazzBill thinks. WGN is carried by cable companies all over the country, so it's not really just a Chicago station.

Check to see if your cable or satellite provider carries Antenna TV. If your provider carries WGN, and Antenna is owned by WGN, as JazzBill thinks, you may be able to get the station.

Tribune Co. launching digital subchannel Antenna TV network
Share | For those with those who watch TV via an antenna, there's Antenna TV.

Tribune Co., following the lead of WCIU-Ch. 26 parent Weigel Broadcasting, is launching Antenna TV to supply digital subchannel programming for local TV stations, beginning Jan. 3.  The new service will deliver a round-the-clock slate of vintage TV series reruns and movies from Sony and DLT Entertainment to a secondary digital channel of WGN-Ch. 9 and those of other Tribune Co. stations.

Tribune Co., which also owns the Chicago Tribune, also plans to make the service available to stations in other markets on a barter basis.

On most Tribune Co. stations, Antenna TV is meant to complement This TV, the pioneering movie service that Weigel and MGM launched for digital subchannels two years ago. But here in Chicago, where Antenna will air on Channel 9.2, Weigel's WCIU carries This and WGN will have only that

We have CONcast Cable, and last Saturday I was pressing the "Up" button on the remote to see what channels were where (something I do every month or 3), and Viola!  Right before the Tango traffic channel, there was Antenna TV!  At no time did CONcast ever advertise it, so I don't know how many people in the area are unaware of the channel.  We do not have WGN itself, so no Cubs or WWE Superstars.  :)

Thanks for that information, JB.

Now, let's all keep our fingers crossed that Antenna TV keeps running commercials between the shorts and not in the middle of them like AMC & IFC.

I don't see why they would change it. I hope the ratings are good. Life certainly is good for Stooge fans lately.  [cheers]

The reason I said that is because, at one time, both AMC and IFC aired the Stooge shorts uninterrupted.

I agree about life being good. I remember several dry spells in the past when you couldn't find the Stooges on teevee anywhere; and that was before the boxed sets came out.
