A program of Three Stooges Rarities will be part of this year's Slapsticon 2008 schedule. The festival of rare silent & sound comedies is held in Arlington, Virginia each July. This year the dates are July 17 thru 20, 2008. Exact titles of the Stooges Rarities are not yet announced, but a partial film schedule plus other info can be found at the Slapsticon website.

http://www.slapsticon.org

The Stooges Rarities are being presented by filmmmaker, writer, producer, director, finder-of-rare-films, old friend and all-around swell guy Paul Gierucki. So you KNOW there will be some real rarities. Paul has a great talent for digging up cool rare stuff. Many Stooges fans may already be familiar with his DVD set "Stooges: The Men Behind The Mayhem". Also two other DVD sets he recently produced, "The Forgotten Films Of Roscoe Arbuckle" and "Industrial Strength Keaton" can not be too highly recommended.

This year's Slapsticon will be the sixth annual, and it is one event I would not miss (and I haven't yet). Lots of super-rare comedy films and lots of good friends attending...it's always been well worth the trip.
