Along those lines, how about SPOOKS and THREE MISSING LINKS before KING KONG?  [glasses9]
I wonder how many shorts featured a gorilla? Also was THIS guy him?

I checked THREE MISSING LINKS (1938) on IMDB, which revealed Ray "Crash" Corrigan as the Gorilla in that short. Apparently, playing Gorillas was a common go to for Ray, although he did also star in some B westerns.

While IMDB doesn't list Ray Corrigan in much beyond the late 1950s, I suppose it's possible he could have made this THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES appearance uncredited.

Here's a short/feature combo to provoke discussion:

THE YOKE'S ON ME (1944) before BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S (1961).

Both films, in one way or another, represent what are now considered exceptionally uncomfortable and unflattering portrayals and/or situations that involve one or more Japanese characters. Presented together or separately, each of these titles are bound to provoke some very interesting discussion.  One's mileage may vary, in terms of entertainment value.

I wonder whether the subjects of this song would have also found commonality with the Stooges THE YOKE'S ON ME? 🤔

Abbott and Costello's MEXICAN HAYRIDE (1948) would also work as a feature film choice.
