This is excellent.  I'm still reading this article, but it's a real find.  Thank you so much, RICO987!

100 percent serious question Lefty - how the heck do you know who Joey Belladonna is (a really nice guy based on my meeting), but not James Hetfield?  They both came from the same musical scene and era, yet if Joey Belladonna is Ray Davies in thrash metal  James Hetfield, the singer and rhythm guitarist of Metallica, is John Lennon as far as relative fame goes.  A really famous dude, easily the most famous rock star I've met, and I'm kind of shocked more people here don't know who he is.

I had no idea who was in Anthrax until they appeared as themselves in a "Married With Children" episode entitled, "My Dinner With Anthrax" in the 1991-92 season.

Classic television at its best!  I'm amazed I didn't ask Joey about the experience, but I imagine he's been asked that ten million times.

Larry might have been born a day earlier:  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V1MH-FZ5

Hmm, that's interesting.  I've noticed that a number of performers have uncertain birthdates, and there seem to be many reasons for that.  But having a difference of only one day seems odd.

Stumbled on this and thought I'd pass it along.  Interview of Steve Cox, the author of One Fine Stooge.

At the end of the article, there is a link to another Stooge-related interview -- Moe's son, Paul Howard, which is from 2011.

I love ol' Porcupine best of all the Stooges, and I appreciate your posting this.  It's a great article.  Now all I have to do is to persuade my library to purchase the book described in the article.  :)

The 4th is also given in this 1939 passenger list: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-22108-36653-63?cc=1923888 (line 10)

Above (lines 5-7) are Moe, Curly and Eddie Laughton (their stage straightman).

I went to the tribute to Larry Fine many years ago in Philadelphia. Scott Reboul was a guest speaker. A number of Columbia Three Stooges shorts were screened. Does anyone know what year that was?

Trent, that was a two day event held in 2007, with the first part of the program occurring on Larry's 105th birthday (October 5th), and the second part of the program occurring the following day.  "Secret Cinema" hosted the first part of the program at the Moore College of Art, and Gary Lassin hosted the second part of the program at The Stoogeum.  A flyer for the "Secret Cinema" activities is attached below.  As I'm sure you recall, a highlight of the second day activities was a slide show presented by Larry's niece Phyllis Goldbloom.  One particular photograph from the slide show stands out in my mind -- the one where Larry's wife Mabel is looking intently into Larry's eyes whilst giving him the finger.
