Actor Frank Cady has died at his home in Oregon, at the age of 96.
 
Frank is best known as 'Sam Drucker' on PETTICOAT JUNCTION (1963 - 1970), GREEN ACRES (1965 - 1971) and several guest shots on THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES.  Hitchcock fans can spot him in REAR WINDOW (1954), as the "older" man who sleeps on his fire escape.

Frank was almost cast for THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW.  In the series' pilot episode "Danny Meets Andy Griffith" on THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW, Cady played Mayberry's town drunk.  When the show went into production, the role was reimaged as 'Otis Campbell' and played by Hal Smith.
