Fantasy and sci-fi author Ray Bradbury has died at age 91.

L.A. Times Obituary

Ray was a huge fan of Laurel & Hardy, and an active member of The Sons of the Desert (the L&H Appreciation Society). Specifically, Ray was a member of the Way Out West Tent of Burbank/Universal City CA.

Naturally, owing to its unique location, over the decades the Way Out West Tent's membership has included many celebrities from the Hollywood area, especially many who worked at the Hal Roach Studios with Laurel & Hardy, Our Gang, Charley Chase, etc.

The attached photo features the celebrity guests at the Tent's October 2001 banquet. Ray Bradbury is front and center, greeting the camera.
 -  Two over from Ray Bradbury, seated far right, is his friend Margaret Kerry, costar of THE NEW 3 STOOGES (1965); as a child in 1935-1936, Margaret was one of the 'Our Gang' rascals.
 -  In the back row, the short woman (5th from the right) is the late Edith Fellows, who appeared with Moe, Larry & Curly in the 1937 ad campaign for the Stooges Pillsbury Moving Picture Machine.

RIP Ray.  Read a lot of his books in high school.  Absolutely loved The Illustrated Man[/u].  Really didn't care for Fahrenheit[/u], but he was still a great author.  RIP.
IT'S ALIVE!!!!
