I have the upcoming (nearly) full restoration of Metropolis on pre-order, but my question is about "M", Fritz Lang's first talkie.

Has anyone seen this?  What did you think?

My exposure to movies from this era has been mostly limited to the ones that had Ted and/or the Stooges in them.  Not too much other pre-70's stuff.

Have all on DVD - Soup To Nuts, Meet the Baron, Swing Parade, Dancing Lady, Gold Raiders & of course Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

If you want a one word answer - "Yes."

Peter Lorre's breakdown at the end is one of the most intense acting performances I have ever seen.  Highly recommended.
