Our wonderful CW57 channel in Philly has decided that, after 8/23, "The Stooges are going back in the vault."  So to celebrate all the years of slicing out various parts of every episode that normally lasts more than 16 minutes to put in the same boring trade school commercial 12 times an hour, CW57 is showing a 5-hour Stooges marathon next Sunday, August 23rd, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  After that, I will have to wait for Sony to create the DVDs for 1952-1959 to see any of those shows.  Maybe the ratings tanked because people would rather watch complete unedited episodes.

The 1952 - 1954 Shemps are rumored to be coming out in November so you'll be okay so far there.

What a shame the Boys don't have the presence on TV they used to. I haven't seen them in syndication since 1999 or so when C3 had that terrible syndicated program with one short per half hour. I wonder if Spike TV even has the airing rights any longer. I would hope not. Our only hope for even sporadic showings is if TCM gets a hold of them somehow. Surprised they haven't yet.
