Featuring Shemp Howard (Solo)
16.1 min. (Short Subject)
Good samaritan Woodcock rescues a girl from an accident, and a newspaper photographer snaps a picture of her thanking him. The paper mixes up the caption, implying that they are lovers. This doesn't sit well with his fiancee, who breaks off their engagement, leaving him so heartbroken he asks the rescued girl's gangster boyfriend (Dick Curtis) to kill him. When Woodcock's intended returns and apologizes, he realizes that his days are numbered unless he can find the gangster and call off the hit.
A scene-for-scene remake of Charley Chase's TIME OUT FOR TROUBLE (Columbia 1938), with Dick Curtis reprising his original role. Appearances by Bud Jamison, Fred Toones and Victor Travers are actually stock footage from the Chase comedy.
It's believed that Shemp's makeup included a moustache so he would resemble Charley Chase enough to match up in stock footage longshots. But strangely, only a stunt double appears in any stock footage involving the Chase character, and no moustache is visible.
