Six Three Stooges shorts are coming to Blu-Ray... but don't get too excited.

The shorts are extras on a Region B box set of Columbia Noir films. If you are in the US or Canada (Region A), you will need a region-free player to play the discs.

The six shorts included as extras: From Nurse to Worse (1940), The Yoke’s on Me (1944), Dunked in the Deep (1949), Blunder Boys (1955), Commotion in the Ocean (1956), and A Merry Mix-Up (1957).

It's long, long overdue that Sony releases a Blu-Ray boxset domestically with the shorts in 1080p.

DISORDER IN THE COURT will be on a bonus disc for an upcoming 4K boxset of well-known Sony/Columbia films.

The same bonus disc will have two Charley Chase shorts, and the musical novelty Umpa.

The bonus disc is said to be in 1080p, not 4K. But still an improvement over the DVD-only releases of DISORDER and the Chase shorts. Umpa has never been out on any video format, that I'm aware of.

Hopefully the bonus disc turns up on eBay....

What would be best is a Three Stooges blu ray set with a bunch of extras - the majority of extras being other Columbia shorts and audio commentaries.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Then there was that event in 2007 where some supporting players were interviewed for upcoming DVD releases... it has never surfaced. Why, not sure.

Oh wow, had no clue about that and other interviews.  I’m sure the footage can still be used.

Truthfully, those DVD sets look great and the upgrade to blu ray isn’t quite as needed as other films - but it would still be cool.  The extras would be the ultimate hook for me.

I was watching one of the sets not too long ago. They still look good but are starting to show their age. If these were restored/remastered by today's standards and released in 1080p, the differences would be very noticeable. It's hard to believe those DVD sets first started coming out 14 years ago.
