Here we go!  Pick your favorite short from each pair!  The ones with most votes advance to the third preliminary round.  For your benefit, I have linked the discussion to each respective short from metaldams' reviews.   These are seeded in order by ThreeStooges.net ratings.  The winner of of Bracket 1 goes onto be seed 127 in the big board, and the winner of Bracket 2 goes on to be 128.  If we have enough fun with this, maybe we can push these brackets long enough to achieve an order of 1-190 by these methods?  [pie] [3stooges] ;) ::)

After the week is up, I will lock the topic until after the tournament is done.

Edit: in case of a tie, both shorts advance, and there will be three shorts squaring off based on where the lower ranked short would have been.

Some of these choices are not easy... it's like asking "Which is better: cyanide or guillotine?"... particularly the bottom 3 pairs in Bracket 2

When I read "Some of these choices are not easy... it's like asking 'Which is better: cyanide or guillotine?'... particularly the bottom 3 pairs in Bracket 2"  I first saw it as "Which is better, cyanide or Ovaltine?"  I need a day off.   :o

I'm going to stick with my original choices, but I'm going to go back and see what changes if I did it this way.

We have multiple ties at the time of this posting.  Please, folks, cast votes so that we have an odd number of votes.

Where's Dr. Hugo Gansamacher when you need him?

Paul, just a suggestion.  What I did when ties happened is I allowed both shorts to advance to the next round and had three shorts (or four, if necessary); square off in a bracket.  You could either have a straight vote or have people rank the three, giving 3 points to first place, 2 points for second place, and 1 point for third place.  Maybe something to consider after the preliminaries, but it always worked for me.

I like this solution better than discounting my own votes, especially since I am now closing the votes on this one.  Brackets go up tomorrow  >:D :-X [pie]

Paul, glad you counted your vote to save one of my favs, Cuckoo On A Choo Choo. But it's definitely on the endangered list.
