HAND OF DEATH (1962) now available on DVD from 20th-Century Fox; part of Fox's line of Cinema Archives MOD's. In this low-budget sci-fi/horror film, Joe Besser had a brief supporting role as a service station attendant.

Universal is repackaging eight of its war-themed films in "Wartime Comedies: 8 Movies" on May 19.  Included are two Abbott & Costello movies, BUCK PRIVATES (1941) and IN THE NAVY (1941)... Shemp Howard is featured support in both. 

Available from Amazon; Universal has released many of its titles in these multi-film sets (Westerns, Action/Adventure, etc.) and moving them thru big brick-&-mortars like WalMart and Target.  Presumably, "Wartime Comedies" will be found there too.

"Barkleys & The Houndcats" on October 20 from Film Chest Media Group, two complete DePatie-Freleng cartoon series from 1972.  Joe Besser [voiceover] costarred in 13 episodes of THE HOUNDCATS (1972) with Aldo Ray, Arte Johnson, Stu Gilliam and Daws Butler.




"4 Film Favorites: Jerry Lewis Comedies" on November 3, four of Lewis' 1960s Paramount features under distribution license to Warner Home Video.  Joe Besser was employed as a gag writer on CINDERFELLA (1960).
