Bobby Thomson died today at the age of 86. Though he had a solid career, he is remembered mostly for hitting the "shot heard round the world" back in 1951. For my money, it remains the most memorable homer ever hit and the play by play call (this one by Russ Hodges) remains the best HR call of all time.
