News from AllDay Entertainment's website reports that the "Becoming Charley Chase" set has been postponed for economic reasons.

Quote
Charley Chase is delayed. Sales of the "Harry Langdon" and "American Slapstick 2" sets have been fairly soft, and we will be focusing attention on promoting those titles through this difficult economic period. "BECOMING CHARLEY CHASE" is ready to go to replication as soon as the market seems ready to embrace him properly.

When will people ever realize that silent comedy is more important than meals and the mortgage?

Seriously a shame, though.

Well that sucks. I was really looking forward to this.

It does suck, but I can understand why.  Charley Chase isn't a household name and people, myself included, have been buying way less as of late.
In the past, I'd pick up this set in a heartbeat, but I admit it, I'd probably wait at least a year or two before picking it up now, just being happy that it's out and there for me when the time is right.

I still haven't gotten that Little Rascals set, and it may be awhile before I do.

I think that Charley Chase was a pretty good director, and he was good in Sons of The Desert, but I didn't like the solo shorts that I've seen him in. Are there any recommendations for some that I should see, or is he really worth it?
I think Birdie will go for that!
