That's just what I was thinking, BeAStooge.  I am curious, though.  I assumed that since Columbia owns "The Three Stooges in Orbit," which includes portions of "The Three Stooges Scrapbook," that Columbia/Sony also owns the rights to "Scrapbook," as well.  Can you confirm this, please?  When I emailed my thoughts to Mr. Schlesinger, I requested "Scrapbook" be released as a bonus feature.  Would that even be a possibility? ???

THE THREE STOOGES SCRAPBOOK (1960) was not a Columbia production, and is not a Sony property.

Hey!

My name is Ian and I did the interview with Mike. I'm really happy you all enjoyed it and as I Stooge fan myself the news was great to hear. The DVDs look great, cost efficient, and uncut.

Mike sent a small update on the emails that you can read here. He is pleasantly surprised with all the great emails he's been getting, but will need a couple of days to respond to them

Heres the reply I got from Mr. Schlesinger, and my rather "lengthy" email I sent gushing about these new Collections:

Hi, Brad,

Thanks for the kind words. I believe there will be a box set of the features after all the shorts are out. I don't think there will be any more colorized shorts, though--you're a definite minority on that one!  :-)

Best,
Mike

Subject: This is Brad, THREE STOOGES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mr. Schlesinger,

Hello, my name is Brad. I have been a Stooges fan since I was 3 years old...... 1985....  and after years of watching them on TV, and collecting the VHS tapes, and the DVDs:

I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED that Sony is releasing the COMPLETE Three Stooges Collection, in order, and VERY reasonably priced.....................  I could write a 2 page letter on how happy I am about this, but I think you already get the idea............  I also have Stooges books, photos, and autographed photos of Joan & Paul Howard, (Moe's children)

I've already pre ordered the 3rd volume of shorts. and cant wait for it...............

I also have a few questions:  after the complete collection is released, is Sony going to release the feature films in a box set, theres a wonderful idea............. My favorite is Have Rocket Will Travel, and Im very surprised that this is the only feature film that wasnt released on DVD................... It would be great to have all the feature films in one set, but ESPECIALLY Have Rocket Will Travel, their first one, from 1959......................

The Three Stooges in COLOR: I know the reviews were mixed on this, but as a "DIEHARD" Stooge fan, I thought they were WONDERFUL, I had been wanting to see them in color for YEARS.........................  I have all 4 Sony releases, and the Legends Films version with the 4 public domain shorts...............

Are you planning to do anymore COLOR Stooge discs................ Im not sure how the sales of those were, but I bought every single one of them, and would buy more if they are released, but I havent heard anything about the COLOR discs for some time

Sorry this is such a long email, but as I've said, I've been hoping for this for a LONG time, and Im SO glad that Sony is releasing these in chronoligical order, in such great packaging too.............. I cant say enough about them, and the schedule is wonderful too................

Thanks for taking time to read this, and I would appreciate any inside info you have as to future release schedules............ and Bonus features, such as if there are any outtake and or color footage, that would make a wonderful addtion........... how about an interview with Joan Howard Maurer, and Paul Howard, If you need their contact info, I have it, and would be more than happy to send it to you, if it would help

Once again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU..............

Brad

Moe:  Didn't you say you had an uncle ?
Curly:  Yeah, Uncle Bob O. Link, but the family didn't speak to him, He had MILLIONS.........
Moe:  Thats it, We're rich
Larry:  We're filthy with dough
Moe:  You're filthy WITHOUT it..............

I would really love after the Stooges Shorts all get released that the solo Shemp shorts as well as Joe Besser and Joe DeRita could get DVD releases.

I wonder if the Blu-Ray spammer was this passionate about DivX when it was new?!

Wait a minute.. the kid probably wasn't born yet at the time!

xraffle, your lack of intelligence on these topics is frightening.

and xraflle, you must have no life, because you have absorbed no facts on how blu ray will make the stooges even better, and you have no life, cause you get off on banning people who expose your complete lack of knoweledge and your disdain for having the stooges in the best condition and who you feel challange you in the only place you patheticalluy have power in

Just how much of this blu ray stock do you own ?  Speaking of lack of knowledge, ( which you spelled wrong ) are you sure it was xraffle who banned you ? Also, your spelling of  patheticalluy , is pathetic. If I had the authority to ban people. I'd ban you for being illiterate. :police:

For your information, I happen to own this site and I am the one who has banned you.  The fact that I have had to do so multiple times confirms that I was correct in my original impression of you.

Feel free to click on that "Report to Moderator" link when necessary, JazzBill.  I get a copy of all the notifications, and I always look at any post that gets reported as quickly as I can.

Funny! Why do some people mistake me as a moderator? This is not the first time that has happened. Maybe I act too bossy. I don't know. ???

Yeah, maybe that's it. I should probably remove that to avoid any future mix ups. I'd just figured that the lack of purple stars and no "Global Moderator" under my name would be a clear giveaway.

Yeah, you'd think that would be a bit of a tip off, wouldn't you?   ::)   ;D

Actually, I believe Global Moderators get blue stars, not purple. My mistake. At first, I was unsure, but then I see that the Team Stooges are the ones with the purple stars. Boy, I'm glad I'm finally getting a new computer next week. This computer and monitor is so old that colors aren't always 100% clear.

That Blu-Ray Spammer just never gives up.  Do you think it could be the return of islipp?   >:D

Anyway, I sent an email to Mr. Schlesinger.  When I get a reply, I'll post it here.  It's good to know that Sony is considering our suggestions.   [cool]

Yeah, I know. He'll find some way to go around the ban though. He'll be back. But don't worry because I'm the one with no life, according to him.

But seriously though. The amount of pressure that society puts us on to upgrade to HD is insane. I won't be surprised if one day I get executed for not owning an HDTV or a Bluray player. It's rediculous.

Offline archiezappa

Yeah.  I don't see the point in upgrading.  It's just a way of spending more money so your current collection can be obsolete.  Personally, I still have lots of stuff on vhs, lp, and cassettes.  I did ditch my 8-tracks about 16 years ago, but other than that, I've still got lots of the old stuff.  It took me a while to switch to DVD.  I'm not going for HD or Blu-ray any time soon.

Besides that, I don't think HD or Blu-ray are the future, anyway.  The future is internet downloads.  The future is not having discs.  You know, it'll be something like iMovies where you have your entire movie collection on a small device you can carry around in your pocket.  But I don't even have an mp3 player, yet.  I still listen to vinyl albums.

But whatever anyone believes to be the future of home video, they need to keep that belief to themselves and quit being annoying.  What is that Blu-ray guy anyway?  He acts a lot like a fanatical preacher.

Well I'm glad people on this site have sense. Whenever I try having this discussion on a "Home Theater" forum, everyone over there throw rocks at me. Everyone insists that HD is best thing in the world and that it'll "enhance" your experience when watching. A lot of people I know also act the same way. I don't understand. HDTV is around $1,000, a Blu-Ray player is about $500, and a Blu-ray disc is about $30. Boy, I wish people would tell me where they get their money tree from.

I still don't understand how HD will enhance my viewing experience.  I'm guessing, maybe, that if you watch the Stooges in HD you can actually feel shrapnel from every pie that's thrown?   [pie]  Just a thought.

Oh, and when you find out where their money tree is coming from, post it!  I'd like to get in on that, too.   ;D
