The space agency's latest attempt to launch a rocket into space has failed, and Mr. Morse (Jerome Cowan) lays blame with Dr. Ingred Naarveg's fuel formula. Janitors Moe, Larry and Curly Joe want to help her, and break into the laboratory at night to concoct their own special brand of fuel. Wrecking the lab in the process of pumping the fuel into the rocket, the Stooges find themselves on the run from Morse when he stumbles across their latest disaster. Hiding in the rocket, they accidentally launch themselves into space on a collision course with the planet Venus, where they find a giant flame-breathing tarantula, and a talking unicorn whom they befriend. But also waiting for them is a computer brain that controls the planet, which plans to create robot replicas of the Stooges and conquer the Earth.
The final reel finds the Stooges back on Earth to a heroes' welcome, and recreates the party scene from HOI POLLOI (1935).
If the voice of the unicorn sounds familiar to some, it's Dallas McKennon, the voice of 'Archie' (THE ARCHIES) and 'Gumby.'
Costar Robert Colbert ('Dr. Benson') is best known as star of the TV series THE TIME TUNNEL.

There isn't a transcript available for this episode.
- Audio error
When Larry says "She's gonna lose her job", the end of his line is muted for some reason.
- Bad dubbing
When Moe, Larry, and Curly Joe are climbing down the ladder in the spaceship, for some strange reason, they dub in Curly's woo-woo-woo's from another short.
- Bad dubbing
When the Stooges are climbing back inside the rocket the second time to get away from the boss, for some reason, they dub in Moe saying "I'm caught! Help me! I'm caught!" from later in the film (when he gets stuck in the bird cage).
- Bad dubbing
Similar to the "bad dubbing" goof in OUT WEST: when Moe, Larry, and Curly Joe are yelling as they're being dropped out of the bird cage, you can hear Shemp yelling as well. This is because they dubbed in the Stooges' yells from a Shemp short.
- No mouth movement
When the monkey jumps on top of Moe and Larry, you hear one of them yelling, but neither of their mouths are moving.
- Prop mishap
When Curly Joe is pouring salt into the big tub of chemicals, he almost accidentally drops the whole jar of salt in the tub. Moe was in the middle of saying something as Curly Joe's goof happened, so Moe was kinda distracted for a moment.
- Replayed shot
When Larry is trying to find his lost shoe on the dance floor, after he gets kicked on the head, that same shot of him getting kicked is accidentally (?) replayed in reverse. This might have been intentional, though.
- Visible shadows
When the camera first shows Moe adding chemicals into that big tub, you can see the shadow on the tub of somebody (maybe the cameraman) walking up, then backing away. Likewise, when Curly Joe is sitting down and trying to cross his legs, on the bottom of the screen, you can see a shadow of somebody behind the camera for a few seconds.
- Visible wires
When Larry floats in the rocket, you can see the wires lifting him.

This picture was clearly made to cash in on the Stooges' sudden resurgence in popularity, and, sad to say, it's not very good. In spite of some ressurected routines, and a fairly good supporting cast (Anna-Lisa does quite well with her role) the whole thing just kind of sits there. The pacing is off, and the story moves far too slowly. Some of the mayhem on hand is presented in too-tightly framed shots (specifically, the scene with the picks-and-shovels). DeRita tries to get off a couple off half-assed Curlyesque noises, and fails miserably. Moe looks worse here than he did in films made a couple of years later. The only one who seems about right is Larry, and that's probably becausehis charachter was so non-descript by that time it had almost ceased to exist! All in all, a missable effort.

There seem to be a lot of re-hashed routines in this one. There is a variation of the "maze-of pipes" gag from "A Plumbing We Will Go" and in the party sequences Curly-Joe does the "spring attached to the butt" gag previously done in "Hoi Polloi", "Three Little Sew And Sews", and "An Ache In Every Stake". Unfortunately the scenes on Venus are for the most part, pretty stupid. The gags that are redone are actually redone pretty well and there are a few new gags. A decent outing with our boys.2 1/2 pokesMike Holme
