Quick question -- didn't Laurel and Hardy also attempt to deliver a bulky object up these very same stairs in one of their shorts??

No.  The L&H stairs from THE MUSIC BOX (1932) and HATS OFF (1927) are 1+ miles away @ 932-935 Vendome St., one block south off Sunset Blvd. 

The Stooges' stairs are at 2257-2258 Fair Oak View Terrace. 

(Both staircases are in the Silver Lake section of L.A.)

Yeah, I enjoyed looking at those pics.  Especially, you posing like the Stooges.  Makes it realistic.

I'm just reading this thread for the first time, and I had to laugh, because I had posted on Jim Pauley's Facebook page as a reply to the very same picture.  As a joke, I asked him if those were the same stairs from "The Music Box", because it was always asked or assumed. 

I thought they could be the same at one time, too!
