If you're like me, then you grew up loving the animation style of Arthur Rankin, Jr. and Jules Bass. These two men, with the help of artist Paul Coker and others, created so many of the memorable holiday specials we've all come to love, such as
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
Frosty the Snowman,
Santa Claus is Coming to Town,
A Year Without Santa Claus and
The Little Drummer Boy. Along with all the Christmas-themed specials, Rankin and Bass created many other wonderful programs and films, from
Mad Monster Party to
The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town. I love the work of Rankin and Bass, especially their Animagic (stop-motion) specials. The Enchanted World of Rankin & Bass website is a treasure trove of information for fans of these animation pioneers. Enjoy!
