Nah, I was never that type.  Even back then I rarely talked to anyone I spotted randomly.

I can meet Chistina Ricci in a few weeks since she is appearing at the bookstore in the next town. Probably won't go, though.

The celebrities I would be really excited to meet are all dead now.

Did I mention I used to know Art Shamsky? (If anyone here even knows who he is -- now known to many only because of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND.) He was actually friendly with my father, and he ran a restaurant in downtown NYC with another of my father's friends who threw batting practice for the Yankees and Mets. The batting practice guy came to our house a few times, including one Thanksgiving. So I spoke with him and Shamsky a lot.

Now that you mentioned NYC restaurants... I ate at "Grampa" Al Lewis' restaurant on Bleecker Street several times in the 1980s. Best of those visits was when I brought my grandparents (both lifetime NYC residents) and MY "Grampa" talked to "Grampa" Al Lewis for at least a half hour after dinner. Al was quite a character!

The Three Stooges - Curly Years / Re: If A Body Meets A Body (1945)

This is why, Doctor, I'm glad you're back...Haratounaonian is a word that not many of us were about to Google, and by implication shows that someone on the writing staff of this short had enough esoteric knowledge to not only be aware of the original, but also to be enough on his game to make a joke of it, tailored to Moe.  I'm guessing that it was written properly in the original script, the joke being that Moe would read the proper name, but that Moe in rehearsal garbled it in such a way as improved the line, so they kept it in.  Again, just a guess.
The extremely shaky guy with the cane is so distracting that one wonders if he was someone's relative placed there to add ( maybe ) to the spooky atmosphere, although he really doesn't.  Sad to hear that Fred Kelsey, one of my very favorites, ended up with the shakes ( sounds like Parkinson's ) himself.

Off subject, this is driving me nuts:  in what episode does Curly, being somehow unintentionally thwarted ( I'm guessing some situation where a wall separates him from the other two ) yells out: " Don't be so mean!"  I should know it, and I can't recollect it, and I'm going insane.  Help me, anybody.

That would be from "The Sitter Downers" at the 12:42 mark

So, did you expect everything to remain unchanged for 94 years? :D

Funny, because I recently picked up a Super 8 Blackhawk copy and watched it the other day. It is actually a little better than I'd given it credit for over the years. I just wish studios like Roach didn't stoop to guys in gorilla suits so much.

Do those new restorations restore the missing bits from previous releases? My Blackhawk copy has them, but the soundtrack is mute for the portions missing from the DVDs. So that gives a clue to why those DVDs were missing the bits -- rather than having dialog that couldn't be heard, they cut out the visuals, too.

The sound was probably recorded on a Victor disc, and perhaps portions were damaged in the only available copies throughout the years.

I had heard that the L&H and Friends DVD had everything intact, but you can't believe everything you "hear" on the Web.

Sorry to disappoint the well wishers, but I am a doctor of "marine science" and specialize in "physical oceanography."  I'll try squeezing my Adam's apple and see what happens though...

Suddenly, the Phil Van Zandt evil scientist strikes a nerve...

Is that similar to a marine biologist?

General Discussion / Re: Question for Red Sox fans: Alex Verdugo

https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/alex-verdugo-stats-since-july-1st

He had 18 rbi from july 1st to end of the year -- 67 games. 16 rbi after the all-star break.
He is a free agent now -- don't everyone bid at once.

Ironically, he was one of the few Yankees who made a decent contribution in the World Series, including a home run. He didn't make an error in Game 5, either!

He was their regular left fielder and played in 149 games this year.
He had 61 RBI for the year, but was a non-entity once July hit.

Here's part of my filming locations then and now video documentary, 1930 vs today from The Little Rascals film Bear Shooters. Pretty drastic changes to this particular Los Angeles neighborhood in the past 94 years! The complete video documentary - along with several of The Three Stooges movie locations video documentaries that I've created - are up on my website: https://ChrisBungoStudios.com

Seals and otters can also benefit from Brighto.

Congrats Paul, sounds like a wonderful profession.
