My question is "Laff Hour".  I understand this was up to the individual theater's to include "The Three Stooges" or not.   But are there no copies of any  theater's version anywhere?

From LAFF HOUR's filmography page...
Quote
The only LAFF HOUR film footage created by Columbia was a special title leader, and a trailer.

There never was a copy or a print of the "program."  A theater decided to book LAFF HOUR... Columbia would send them a pressbook and a trailer.  For the "program," it'd receive a LAFF HOUR title leader plus three or four short subjects.

As far as I know, neither the trailer or title leader have turned up in anyone's library.  Or if they have, whoever has 'em hasn't spoken up.

Hello. I'm new here. I have all the shorts on DVD and I love watching (as does my 12 year old son). My question: I want to do some reading about the Stooges. I recently downloaded "Three Stooges: FAQ" to my iPad, but I'm looking for suggestions on other books to read. Any help is greatly appreciated. What a great site/forum you've created here. Thanks so much!

Three Stooges Scrapbook is the best book to get started with. Gives you background on all the stooges and their careers. The Scrapbook doesnt give a lot of details on the individual Columbia shorts though, for that you can go with The Complete Three Stooges. This book goes in depth on each of the 190 shorts and gives perspective on each one. Id say start with the Scrapbook and for more detail on the shorts go with the Complete.

I could have sworn that I once saw an episode, involving a magic act or something, where I heard "mecca lecca hi mecca hiney ho," which is where I thought Pee Wee Herman got it. But I can't find any reference, so I'm wondering if I imagined it.

Perhaps you're thinking the "ras banas ya ti benafucci a timi nicaronja" bit in THREE LITTLE PIRATES?  That's the only thing that comes close.

PS: If Jim or Rob wouldn't mind posting the actual video linked above, my iPad sometimes acts up and the YouTube link fails to show up.  Thanks.

I have a question about the release date for Stop! Look! and Laugh!.  In the book The Complete Three Stooges by Jon Solomon the release date is given as February 8, 1961, however on the Filmography here, in the newest edition of The Three Stooges Scrapbook. and even Wikipedia give the release date as July 1, 1960, plus the back of the DVD case for it says it came out in 1960.

So, I'm guessing that the release date given in The Complete Three Stooges is just an error that went uncorrected?

Good Evening. I am new to the board, but not new to the Stooges. I have watched all the Curly shorts and almost all of the Shemp shorts numerous times. My newbie question is "Are you married or happy?" I look forward to participating on the board. It should be a  [pie] blast.

Hey! I'm new to this board as well. I had no idea this existed. I actually found it while searching for a Stooges t-shirt. In fact, you guys might be able to help me out. I'm not too keen on the Stooge t-shirts that are on the market. They are really kinda trashy and the designs are pretty bad. I had seen someone on the street wearing a really cool Stooge t-shirt that was reddish and had a simple drawing of the stooges that was very well-done. I didn't ask where he had bought it back then. But I've been searching for a while. Anyhow, I did find a couple of good ones on an artist community called Red Bubble. Needless to say, I am purchasing them. BUT... they don't have a Curly one (believe it or not). They had 1 each for Shemp and Joe. I couldn't believe my eyes!!!!

Can anyone help me find a link for a Curly t-shirt that is similar to these???

Looking forward to reading the boards and posting. I do have my complete dvd collection. Never thought I'd see the day! Still making my way through the solo shorts. Amazing that these finally got an official release. I had thought they were lost forever.

Thanks for making this site and message board! A 'nyuk-nyuk-nyuk' and 'slap' to all the Stooge fans.

Sorry man, can't help you....but a Joe Besser t shirt exists?  Not that I ever bothered to research the topic, but man, that link boggles the mind.  Bootleg, official, whatever, I never even contemplated the idea of a Besser shirt.

Welcome to the board.

I'm at a loss for words. I mean the market for Shemp merch is niche as it is...would that make a Besser t-shirt market "Super Niche"? You'd have to...shit, who really wants a Joe Besser shirt? I wonder how long it will take for the Benjamins to shut this down, they actually have a case here.

Thanks for the welcome, guys!

So I ended up ordering them both and I'm so glad I did. I received a nice message from the artist who drew the pictures for both the Joe and Shemp t-shirts. He said RedBubble received a complaint and he had to take them both down. And then he congratulated me on owning the only ones that sold!!!!! So apparently I own 2 one-of-a-king bootleg Stooge tees. I'm ecstatic!!!

LOL!!!  [3stooges]

I see sports threads for NFL and Baseball. Is there a particular reason why there is no Basketball thread? Just curious....

Hi, everybody. I don't know if this is the right place or not but--in the production notes for "They Stooge to Conga" it says:

"Title Origin:      Possibly a parody of She Stoops to Conquer, an early (1939) BBC TV series "

Actually, it's much more likely that the title is a parody of the well-known 1773 play "She Stoops to Conquer" by Irish author Oliver Goldsmith.  I still remember reading it in high school English class.
Legend, oh legend, the third wheel legend...always in the way.

Hello -- regarding the weekly episode discussion; is it possible to reply back to specific reviews on the board itself, not privately, or to give replies thumbs up? It would be nice to see how the community views individual episode reviews. Thanks!
