Once again on 'Catchy Comedy' Network. 10am Saturday until 6am Monday (CDT).

What a month this has been. First, The Honeymooners, then Laurel & Hardy...and this weekend...Our beloved Stooges. Flippin' brilliant!! I only hope the majority of you are able to watch.

I’m glad Catchy Comedy is bringing back the classic comedians, but who would, or could, watch the Stooges for almost 48 hours? I’m a YUGE comedy fan, but most of these guys work best in small doses. That’s why their films ran just 16-20 minutes.

It’s funny you say that.  I’ve been trying to have marathons recently, Harold Lloyd, Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy, etc.  I actually did get through Harry Langdon’s silent filmography in a matter of a couple of weeks, but only because it’s relatively shorter and if it was even a little longer, I wouldn’t have lasted.

You’re right, the older I get, the earlier, smaller doses indeed tend to be more satisfying.  Spacing things out is the way to go, something I need to teach my naturally obsessive brain.

No one. The way I see it, it's like a 2 day buffet. One can pick and choose what to eat...primarily your true favorites. Occasionally, they roll out nothing but salad and Brussels sprouts, so you bail until the good meat balls are back. Sure, you get stuffed, but the second there's a hint of hunger, you're right back at it. After the 44 hours, it's back to sensible eating and exercise.

Unlike many here, I have a slight aversion to buying DVD collections. Knowing they are always there and available takes away the anticipation... at least for me. There's just something special about knowing there are others laughing at the same thing (at the same time) that enhances my viewing experience.

In closing, I will admit that most of the 'buffets' are like school cafeterias to me. It's a bit of an anomaly to have three straight weeks of world class chefs, but I'm gonna eat while it's hot.  [cool]

The problem I have with these "Catchy Comedy" marathons is the time compression (and occasional editing) to make room for more commercials. I watched a "Honeymooners" episode a few weeks ago and it was obviously sped up. After one show, I had enough.
