https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0228331/Jeepers creepers, what a short! This is a Mack Sennett scare comedy, and boy does it have a ton "scare" in the actors but little comedy. From start to finish, it's just a vignette of people sitting scared, getting scared, and then reacting bizarrely. Boy, oh boy, does it fall flat when the comedic highlight is the dog walking out of the dining room, turning around, and saying, "Save a bone for me." This short nicely highlights Sennett's ability to take advantage of cameras and scenery to create various effects, but it's just a lousy short.
The acting here is fine. Andy Clyde and Harry Gribbon get some groans out of the audience with their reactions, and Marjorie Beebe screams a lot. OK, but... the plot is lousy; there are many jumps, and nothing in the plot ever gets resolved. Everything, including the facts that apparently justify the plot, come out as random surprises at the end.
