I'm not sure if this is just a local Chicago channel or if it's nationwide like the main original Me-TV. But anyway, they have a show called "Comedy Classics" which I understand runs weeknights and features the Three Stooges, Laurel & Hardy and the Little Rascals.
I don't get the channel, and I have all these films on DVD anyway, but I am curious if anyone out there has kept a log of what they've shown. It would be a really cool show and a throwback to my youth when Channel 32 in Chicago used to air the "Stooges Rascals Hour." They also (briefly) carried Laurel & Hardy in the early 1980s (bringing them back after having previously run them in the late 1960s and early 1970s), but just for several months, and they (unwisely) alternated L&H with the Stooges, running them for several weeks at a time on "Comedy Classics" in place of the Stooges, at the peak of the Stooges' revival in popularity in the early 1980s. I guess L&H were not well received (although I was very happy to see them), but I wonder if they would have performed better alongside the Stooges rather than bumping them. Anyway...
I do have a few friends who get the channel and check the show out occasionally. From their reports, it seems some of the Laurel & Hardy films are the old video masters from the 1986 "Laurel And Hardy Show." And apparently some of the Stooge shorts have been presented bizarrely, like showing a 1930s short but with a late 1940s "The End" title card replacing the original. That makes no sense to me whatsoever when all the shorts were remastered for DVD.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has been following this show and keeping track of which films have been shown.
