He's survived by son, Rob and best friend for the last half of his life, Mel Brooks.

It's seems obvious to me that comedians live longer than any other profession. Off the top of my head there was Hope and Burns that made 100, Uncle Miltey, Chaplain and more over 90, and of course Brooks lives on, which may also be a testament to drinking copious amounts of vintage wine.
