I was doing an IMDb advanced search for highest rated horror movies of 1939 - 1946.  The top 5 films were unexpected.  Below is a screenshot I took of the results.

The high rating for IF A BODY MEETS A BODY shocks me and I also have to say Stooge shorts have a few hundred ratings versus the thousands of more regularly thought of horror films.  That said, in this case, Looney Toons and Stooges top the list.

OK, I know the whole idea of this post is that the top 5 horror films should be actual horror films, but I’m honestly more disturbed by the fact that IF A BODY MEETS A BODY is rated higher than THE GREAT PIGGY BANK ROBBERY.

I mean, come on, is watching a sick Curly really considered better than watching this:

“I’ll take a milkshake...with sour milk!” -Shemp (Punchy Cowpunchers, 1950)
