Plan 9 From Outer space is a masterpiece compared to John Waters' "Multiple Maniacs" (1970) I became aware of this oddball Director when Siskel and Ebert reviewed PINK FLAMINGOS. I didn't bother to watch that crap 'till 30 years later. Big mistake.
But with a cast featuring Jerry Stiller, Pia Zadora and Rick Ocasic I rented HAIRSPRAY years later and I and the wife and kids loved it. I had never heard of the Maniac movie, so when it aired last month on TV I was curious. Even stoned I could not get into this rotten shit storm of a movie made on a $5,000 budget.
Before I go any further I'd like to know if anyone is interested in this subject and bad films in general. Here's a promo for MANIACS:
