For years, there have been rumors online that Groucho Marx had a walk-on cameo in the 1972 movie, THE CANDIDATE. I had initially dismissed it as nothing more than an internet rumor, but I did notice recently that, during a scene where Robert Redford is observing a speech, a guy who walks in front of him has somewhat of a physical resemblance to Groucho and is dressed very similarly to how he dressed in his later years. I’m attaching a screenshot below, and above it I’m including a picture from online of Groucho during that time. What do you guys think? Is this actuallly Groucho Marx?

The sunlight makes his mustache invisible, but yes.

I would say the probability that he would appear in the movie is possible as there was a resurgence in the Brothers in the 70's. But the photo, to my eye is of a beefier man 10 or more years younger than Julius with no lip fur.

I vote NO.

Yeah, I gotta go with NO as well. At least not here.

Moose and GreenCanaries are correct. I contacted someone who knew Groucho in his later years and he confirmed that it's not Groucho. My mistake, sorry.
