Topic: Sally Field says Jock Mahoney sexually abused her

In her upcoming book, actress Sally Field says her stepfather (and Stooge supporting player) Jock Mahoney sexually abused her. 

Field wrote that Mahoney would summon her to his bedroom alone when she was 14.

"I felt both a child, helpless, and not a child," she wrote.

As a matter of coincidence, I've begun reading Burt Reynolds' 2015 book and he had a couple less than flattering things to say about the way Mahoney apparently treated Field. Reynolds says Mahoney was mean toward her when he wasn't ignoring her. He also suspected that Mahoney was "physically abusive" but added he couldn't prove it.

I don't doubt that Fields speaks the truth, but it's not at all a surprize. WTF was she doing messing around with 40ish B movie actor at 14? Where was her mother?

At any rate I have a personal 2nd hand account on Mahoney: Back we he would have been about 50, my mother in law recounted the time she met him on a cruise. To put it mildly she was awestruck. Her description of his bronzed masculinity and class was starry eyed and this woman was 60.
