It's that time to start a new thread with free agency on July 1!

And my team starts by trading a top-5 scoring forward in the league...

Well Steven Stamkos re-signs with Lightning. So that means Ben Bishop might get moved. And with the Pens Murray playing good in the Finals that means Marc-Andre Fleury might get traded. Both those guys because of the NHL expansion draft.

I would also look at the Canadian hockey teams to make a lot of big moves.

Thanks to Gary Butthead and the ridiculous salary cap, teams cannot retain their own free agents the way the NBA does, and the Flyers and Rangers cannot buy whomever they want -- the Flyers, who could get many superstars, and the Rangers, because when they spent like a drunken sailor, missed the playoffs so many times pre-cap.

Yea with the Cap staying about the same this year, it will be hard for teams with a lot of high profile players to pick anyone up or retain players from the expansion draft.

I guess that is when the Teams Farm teams come into play and hope they can bring guys up to fill spots.
