Fake Cartoon Cels.. Why?!!
on:

I keep seeing these things pop up:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Stooges-animation-cels-/151690420561?hash=item2351742151:g:lo0AAOSwrklVX6A-
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Three-Stooges-Cambria-Studio-/151867742695?hash=item235c05d9e7:g:d0EAAOSwwbdWMujS
But, what's the point? Did someone think there's be a market for off-model fakes? They're too sloppy to be traces. Maybe someone got hold of some of the "dead" cels, the ones with mouths or parts of hands/bodies and tried to draw the heads/features around them? But, no, they couldn't have, because these drawings don't match anything in the cartoons!
These things reek of fakery and the seller won't own up to the fact. Isn't this just as lame as the guy who sells fake "vintage" movie props? You know, the one who knew the studio property guy back in 1975, and listened to his stories for the better part of a day.. and included a genuine signed certificate to prove the props were real?!!
