TRUE OR FALSE: Just two short years after the Three Stooges' freaky final feature film The Outlaws Is Coming! appeared on the silver screen in 1965, Joe DiReda appeared in several episodes of TV's popular campy Batman series alongside Outlaws co-star and future Mayor of Quahog Adam West.

BONUS: Though the Stooges guest-starred TWICE on Hanna-Barbera's (barely) animated New Scooby-Doo Movies in 1972/73 (The Ghastly Ghost Town w/Moe, Larry and Curly-Joe and The Ghost of the Red Baron, which seems more geared towards representing Moe, Larry and Curly Howard), only ONE actual Stooge made a pair of trips to the studio in order to provide his voice for the series. Which of the classic Columbia Pictures knuckleheads made with the tongue-music for Scoob 'n' the gang?

DOUBLE BONUS: What name that is commonly "related" with the Stooges (and with their cartoon images) can be found in the credits of a whopping TWENTY-FOUR episodes of the New Scooby "Movies? [HINT: No, we're not talking about voice-acting legend Daws Butler, who did the Larry & Curly/Curly-Joe imitations for H-B.]

TRIPLE BONUS: Some joker by the name of Olan Soule could be said to be the tightest link EVER between Batman and the Stooges. What could possibly be the reason behind that? [HINT: He is NOT the Emil Sitka of Bizarro World!]

Yes, Joe Di Reda, a fairly busy TV character actor from the '50s-'80s.  Below, Joe in a 1979 episode of M*A*S*H, "A Night at Rosie's."

Joe Besser.  He only worked on one episode of THE NEW SCOOBY DOO MOVIES (1972 - 1973), "Scooby Meets Jeannie" as 'Babu the Genie,' a crossover episode with the JEANNIE (1973) cartoon series that HB was producing for Columbia Television.  Four years later Joe reprised 'Babu' in SCOOBY'S ALL-STAR LAFF-A-LYMPICS (1977 - 1978).

Joe also has a few more HB cartoon series in his filmography, 1978 - 1983.

Norman Maurer, who worked at HB during the 1970s as a story editor and writer.

Daws Butler didn't do the Stooges' voices for HB.  The SCOOBY voices were done by Pat Harrington Jr. (Moe), Frank Welker (Larry) and Joe Baker (Curly Joe).  THE ROBONIC STOOGES voices were Paul Winchell (Moe), and did a switch with Joe Baker (Larry) and Frank Welker (Curly).  Welker also did 'Curly' in JABBERJAW.

Meek-looking Olan Soule with the authoritative voice (image below from a THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW episode) was the voice of 'Batman' for Filmation's THE ADVENTURES OF BATMAN (1968 - 1969) cartoon series, and HB's SUPER-FRIENDS series of the 1970s (later, replaced by Adam West).

I have no idea what you're looking for as "tightest link" (?).  Olan only has a few transient work credits related to the Stooges.  He appeared with Joe DeRita in a 1958 episode of BACHELOR FATHER, a 1955 MILLIONAIRE episode with Besser (directed by Ed Bernds), and both Olan and Besser had bit parts (not the same scene) in Jerry Lewis' WHICH WAY TO THE FRONT? (1970).

  • Ahead of Olan Soule for the title of "tightest link" is Adam West (BATMAN and THE OUTLAWS IS COMING).
  • Columbia produced the BATMAN (1943) and BATMAN AND ROBIN (1949) serials, which are filled with Stooge supporting players... Shirley Patterson, Lynton Brent, Dick Curtis, George Chesebro, Al Hill, Lester Dorr, Sam Flint, George J. Lewis, Sam Lufkin, Charles Middleton, Stanley Price, Blackie Whiteford, Harry Wilson, Don Harvey, Phil Arnold, Myron Healey, Frank O'Connor, more.
  • And Adam's BATMAN (1966 - 1968) also has a long share of guest actors who worked with the Three Stooges over the years... Joe Besser, Julie Newmar, Jock Mahoney, Gil Perkins, Milton Frome, Walter Burke, Lewis Charles, Nancy Kovack, George Neise, Milton Berle, Steve Allen, Bill Dana, Ben Welden, Marilyn Hanold, Benny Rubin, Maurice Dallimore, Allen Jenkins, plus more linked to their solo credits.

Joe Besser was in an actual episode of the 1966 Batman TV Series. He can be seen dressed in black (and his voice is distinctly heard) as one of the Penguin's supporters at The Penguin's campaign headquarters in the The Season 2 episode "Hizzoner the Penguin." The Stooge connection to Batman doesn't gets much tighter than that.
