I do love watching old short subject comedies, very much thanks to the Stooges who introduced me to the format.  Over the last few months I made my way through the Laurel and Hardy Essential Collection and had a mighty chuckle.  Finally I got to the final disc and am currently watching the Laurel and Hardy cameo appearances.  I had never seen Charlie Chase or Todd and Pitts before and I'm quite enjoying my small taste.  I've seen the Little Rascals before and already know I have a shine to them.

The question I pose is that other than the Little Rascals collection and the Laurel and Hardy set, are there any DVDs collecting short subjects from Hal Roach's studio?  A quick search on Amazon unearthed this...

...which has 4 silent films produced by Roach, but is there anything I'm missing or are these fun little films unreleased to the home market?

You can also locate yourself a region-free player and grab these excellent (though, kinda random) German discs:

http://www.edition-filmmuseum.com/product_info.php/info/p99_Max-Davidson-Comedies.html

In PAL format only, so make sure your playback equipment or computer is ready. The transfers in these sets are quite good to excellent. And, there's bonus content like photos and essays, but it's mostly in German. So, brush up der sprackenzie Deutschmark, mein Herring! I mean, mein Herr!!

Hal Roach was a great man. He created some of the great comedy teams, such as Laurel and Hardy and The Little Rascals/Our Gang.
It seems like you guys are only talking about the Hal Roach silent movies ( which, BTW, you have never covered the topic of The Lost Films of Laurel and Hardy DVD set), while even though Hal Roach sound DVDs are extremely limited, doesn't mean that we can't talk about them!

Costello: What makes you think I'm smoking?
Abbott: You have a cigar in your mouth!
Costello: I got my shoes on, but I'm not walking!
