Psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers has passed away at age 85. She first gained fame as a contestant on The $64,000 Question, where she won the grand prize on the subject of boxing. Brothers claimed to be the first television psychologist, and her broadcasting career spanned 4 decades. Her other TV appearances were on several game shows, sitcoms, and drama series.

A very nice lady, with a great  sense of humor.   I had the pleasure of working with her on an HBO special back in 1979 (or thereabouts). The whole story about how she gained prominence appearing on the $64,000 question quiz show is quite fascinating.
