A true legend, but someone who means different things to different generations. For someone like me, born in the mid 1980s, he was that familiar face every New Years Eve. But I think he hung on too long - he was never the same after his stroke and it was kind of a sad spectacle the last few years.

I always loved watching Dick Clark when he hosted the Pyramid game shows. I can say that New Year's Rockin' Eve definitely will not be the same without him. There will certainly be a big tribute for him when December 31 arrives.

A Charles Nelson Reilly prefaced youtube clip ... Dick's last $25,000 pyramid episode (1988)

However, I do have distinct memories of a show called the $100,000 Pyramid which also employed Mr. Clark as its host ...
The tacks won't come out! Well, they went in ... maybe they're income tacks.

I was shocked when I heard this news.  It won't be New Year's without Dick.
IT'S ALIVE!!!!

Who could forget that "award winning" voice acting: "Waaah! You hit me!"
