LOST KEATON is a multi-disc set containing Keaton's 16 Educational Pictures shorts from 1934-1937. Originally released on DVD in 2010, KINO is releasing it on Blu-Ray on March 20th. It will be interesting to see what Blu-Ray can do for these shorts. There appears to be no new bonus features.

On a somewhat related note, it looks like the set Sony put out of Keaton's Columbia shorts is now fetching extravagant prices. Apparently discontinued, new copies of the set are commanding prices of at least $88 and as high as $158 via Amazon third parties. eBay isn't cheap, either, with new copies flirting with 3 figures. No major online retailer (Amazon, BB, JR, Wal Mart, DVD Empire) has it for sale anymore.

Glad I bought it when it came out. It's amazing how this happens with certain releases of things. There are a lot of CDs and DVDs that I was lax on buying when they came out ["one of these days"], and a few years later when I get around to remembering that I never bought them, they're out-of-print and selling for a small fortune. I guess I had better buy the Educationals soon!

They can ask for those prices but how many people have actually 'paid' such a price for something like a DVD? I understand supply and demand but no release of anything is worth three figures especially with the rate these things get re-released and repackaged.

gee that was a crabby response.  :o

Well, if you're a Keaton fan who doesn't have the title, you might.... maybe you're a newer Keaton fan.... its not like those shorts are ever on TV.

Glad I got mine for about 10.00 awhile back.
