Beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law Since the day they was born. Straightening the curves, flattening the hills. Someday the mountain might get 'em, But the law never will.  Making their way, any way they know how..That's just a little bit more than the law will allow. I'm a good ol' boy, You know my mama loved me,  But she don't understand they keep a showin' my hands, And not my face on T.V. Just the good ol' boys, Wouldn't change if they could, Fightin' the system like a true modern day robin hood.

LOL!!!!

That's what I needed.  A laugh riot to cheer us all up from this situation.  Thanks!

classicflix is selling the bonus discs on Amazon for $44.97, which is the same price as the big box from Best Buy.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00895CC90/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk

Amazon.com have as of now got the Ultimate Collection listed for $45.

That is the lowest it has been listed, even during the Pre-order stage the lowest it reached was $60.

The bonus discs are showing as Currently unavailable on Amazon.com right now.

Offline HELLOLARRY

They did a similar thing when Kino released their complete films of Buster Keaton boxset. There was a bonus disc called "Keaton Plus" that was exclusive to the set. Someone on EBay kept offering the disc separately but it was bidding upwards of $100 in some instances. Hopefully Sony will do the same with this bonus disc.

I caved!  ;)

For $45 USD and a final price, after quickest International shipping, of $73 AUD (Australian), I really couldn't resist. I just figured at that sort of price I am more than positive I could be able to sell my volume 1-8 for $90-100 (even $150, especially on my countries Ebay)

And come to think of it, to the people saying they don't want to double-dip as no one will buy your used copies (or people would only buy them for $5-6 at a garage sale). How about this, why don't you keep your used volumes and sell the shrink-wrapped ones? You know you've kept your used copies in good condition, but you also know people wont pay market value for them, so next best thing is you keep your used copies and sell the shrink-wrapped ones that come in the Ultimate Collection.

This, is volume 1-8, only difference is it has a box. 12 copies of it have sold on Ebay Australia and the last 4 after the Ultimate collection was announced. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/THREE-STOOGES-Complete-Series-1-26-New-Sealed-/140552943270?pt=AU_Movies_Movies_TV_Shows&hash=item20b99bb6a6

I could literally earn back double what I paid for the Ultimate Collection, and it's not dishonest as I am selling brand new DVD's.

Every now and again I rent one or two of the currently released volumes that my library has {sadly they do not have number eight, which has my personal favorite short on it, but they have the rest, though some are damaged} If I have extra monies to buy it, I'd snap this set up in a heartbeat, then that way I got all the shorts, and none of them are damaged from other machines or people with lesser brainpower to note that DVDs are prone to damage if you do not baby them {like how I baby my car to keep it running, I still have that escort!} to keep them in good playing shape.

That said I saw mention of Have Rocket, Will Travel and was hooked. Sadly I cannot purchase because they do not ship to hong kong and Amazon over here does not have it yet either. I was able to watch HRWT on hulu a few times, then it got removed. Saw Around the World in a Daze as well, but only the end of it, can't find it ANYWHERE, so why is that not in this set ? three movies I own already, In Orbit, Meet Hercules, and Snow White & the Stooges, all three of them as birthday gifts {because I am a stooges fan my parents tried to get me the movies first.}

All in all, I think Sony releaseing this set as a 20 disc set with three extra bonus discs, --I think I could try and get my library to get it......though they may do how they did their A&B collection, two discs per case with the last 'volume' being the three bonus discs only rather than the whole lot at once.-- Is a good idea because should I manage to buy it, then hey, I got wonderful entertainment that is better than what most TV channels are showing.

I just got my copy of Three Stooges: Rare Treasures in the mail today. I got mine from Amazon Marketplace, but it wasn't from ClassicFlix. I got mine for $19.95, which is the most I'd pay for such a volume. The guy from Sony is right about finding copies at Amazon and eBay. Just keep checking because more people will be breaking their sets up (hopefully). I'm just glad I didn't have to pay for the sets again in order to get this volume.

The highlight of this set for me are the Shemp shorts. I've wanted to see them for quite some time. I got ripped off by the punk who runs the Shorts Department website a couple of years ago. I saw that one of the moderators here did as well and called him out on the forums. Unfortunately, he took the thread down when he got his merchandise. I'm sure there's a lot of people on this site, myself included, who would like to vent their feelings about that creep.

Black Louie, are you referring to Greg Hilbrich?  How did you get ripped off by him?
I've had many dealings with him in the past and have no complaints.

If I find someone selling this for $20, I'm grabbing it. That's a fair price.

I double dipped, but plan on sending the dvds from the first set to the military. I believe there are organizations where you can send films overseas to our troops. So I don't really feel as if I'm spending extra money, but rather, I'm supporting our troops. On a psychological level, it works, at least for me.
I was stunned over how good "Rocket" looks, compared the VHS version.

Amazon is selling The Three Stooges - Rare Treasures from the Columbia Vault by it self for the same price as the entire set:

http://www.amazon.com/The-Three-Stooges-Treasures-Columbia/dp/B00895CC90/ref=cm_cr_dp_asin_lnk

Guess buying the entire set again and trying to unload the unopened volumes might be the way to go.

That's not entirely correct.  To be more accurate, Amazon is not "selling" it at that price.  It is being sold by Classic Flix at the link, and for the price you mentioned, on Amazon's site.  Amazon is just the fulfillment company.  Classic Flix is doing this independently from Sony.  Looks like they are just busting up the "Ultimate" box set and selling these separately.

There are many, many resellers on Amazon selling products of all types independently of Amazon itself.
These pretzels are making me thirsty!

You are right. I guess I should had stated that the collect was for sale, listed on Amazon via a third party for the same price as the entire set new.  ;D

Either that or wait for Sony to release it separately.

I am looking at buying the features to complete my Stooges collection.

Once I get The Rare Treasures, I'll own Rockin' In The Rockies (with Curly), and Have Rocket, Will Travel (Curly-Joe).

After that are there only 5 features with Curly-Joe I need to look at buying? Snow White and Three Stooges, The Three Stooges in Orbit, The Outlaws Is Coming, The Three Stooges Go Around the World in a Daze and The Three Stooges Meet Hercules.

And how about Soup To Nuts with Moe, Larry and Shemp? Is that essential to complete my collection? By essential I mean, did they have long, starring roles in the movie or was it only a cameo part? I read the DVD cover of the 3-Stooges might have been designed to sell copies so I am getting the sense it wasn't a Stooges feature film and might not be needed.

So I am possibly looking at 1 feature with Curly (Rare Treasures DVD), 1 feature with Shemp, and 6 features with Curly-Joe? Would that be correct?

I am only looking at features they starred in, not features that have been released onto DVD, but they only had cameos. (See: It's a Mad, mad, mad, mad world).

Thanks for your answers, and sorry for my long winded post.

They are seen throughout SOUP TO NUTS and it's the first thing they did. It's worth getting, especially as cheap as it is.

Not only that, but Fox just recently re-released it as a 2-DVD set with Snow White And The Three Stooges. Looks to be just a repackaging of the separate releases from 2005:

http://www.amazon.com/Snow-White-Three-Stooges-Soup/dp/B0074FUSU6/ref=sr_1_3?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1339635185&sr=1-3

Soup To Nuts certainly is worth having. They do some good routines in there -- there is a scene where they do their live act of the time, similar to what they did later in Plane Nuts -- and as an added bonus you get them doing barbershop harmony on "You'll Never Know Just What Tears Are," and they sing the whole song this time!

I like Snow White And The Three Stooges for what it is. Just don't go into it expecting Dizzy Doctors.

You would want GOLD RAIDERS too, since that's a MLS starring vehicle. It's a double-feature with Meet the Baron (which they are featured players as MLC and Healy).

Well, I ordered the "ultimate" set...finally. $45 is just to low to pass up. I'll sell my duplicates cheap and get the treasures real cheap this way. Heck, we all know if it is never released separately then the price of the rare set will be through the roof in a few years. I have waited many years to lay eyes on some of those solo shorts. Life is short. Go for it, I say.

If anyone ordered from buy.com, try calling them at 1-800-800-0800 for a price match.... as long as Amazon and/or bestbuy.com has the set for cheaper and it's within 2 weeks of your delivery date. I saw someone on DVDTalk was given a $19 refund (ordered at 63.99, Amazon/BB 44.99) so I called and I was given $17 back (paid 61.99, Amazon/BB $44.99). You may get lucky with the right rep.

I just received my Ultimate Collection in the mail and first thoughts are, wow, what were Sony thinking when they put the 3-Disc "The Rare Treasures" DVD in a single case?

Luckily I have about 4 or 5, 3-Disc cases. So I could transfer the discs straight away, so it's all good.

But enough of that, cant wait to get into what truly matters in this additional DVD. More Moe-Larry-Curly, More Shemp, and more Besser and De-Rita.

You would want GOLD RAIDERS too, since that's a MLS starring vehicle. It's a double-feature with Meet the Baron (which they are featured players as MLC and Healy).

Thanks for the link and the recommendation.

For starters, I've ordered Soup To Nuts and the 5 DeRita films (not including Have Rocket, Will Travel of course!...).

So in the next few days I'll own all 190 shorts and all films they were front-runners in. I never imagined the day would ever come a few short years ago.

You got that right.  I love the Dukes.  Recently, I finally got the 2 DVD set that features the two reunion movies.  Pretty good, although Boss Hogg and Uncle Jesse are very much missed.  I didn't like the two new movie remakes.  They just tarnished it.

Hmm.  Maybe they should have got the Farrellys.  I mean, they did a much better job in remaking the Stooges.   ::)

Offline Stooges#1

I just watched my first DeRita film last night, Have Rocket, Will Travel. And my first thought is that DeRita did a much better job as a Stooge than Besser did throughout his 16 shorts. Except, the talking unicorn was a low point lol.

I'ill be getting the other 5 DeRita films in the mail over the next day or 2, so I can watch the rest of them.
