Topic: Cliff Robertson, 88

Cliff Robertson, Academy-Award winner for CHARLY (1968), died earlier today.  He was 88.

Oldsters like me usually remember him as 'John F. Kennedy' in PT 109 (1963), and 'Shame' in BATMAN (1966 - 1968); modern audiences probably know him better as 'Uncle Ben' in SPIDER-MAN (2002).

I remember Cliff Robertson mostly for two things:  Being the villain "Shame" on Batman, and his being married to Dina Merrill, daughter of E.F. Hutton.  Rumor has it that their divorce was bitter enough to have "Shame" face "Calamity Jan" in a shootout at high noon.
