Betty Garrett passed away Feb. 11 in L.A. She was 91.
Another loss from the golden age of Hollywood, when Betty costarred in MGM musicals of the 1940s with Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Esther Williams, Ann Miller, Red Skelton, Ricardo Montalban, and many more. Survived blacklisting in the 1950s, after her husband Larry Parks was branded a communist during the Red Scare. Also memorable in the 1970s for three years as a costar of ALL IN THE FAMILY, followed by several years on LAVERNE & SHIRLEY.
