I appreciate your help Xraffle, I surely do. Unfortunately typed instructions on things technical dazzle me. Like trying to teach calculus to a chimp.

This is ridiculous. That wasn't any advanced technical jargon, you're just an idiot.

God help me, but "Take On Me" from A-Ha has always been a guilty pleasure for me.  Love that song.

What chick sold the most records in the 80s? Benetar? Madonna? No...this one.

I have at least 8 or 9 thousand LP's and probably even more 45's but NOTHING by any of those three ladies. And I never will. I especially can't stand the one you didn't name. I avoid hearing her, but when I can't get away I find her vocalizing (note I'm not calling it singing) to have all the musical pleasure of a shrill siren splitting through my head.

Do I like any female singers? Sure! Here are some that come to mind quickly.
Got LOTS of records by:
Petula Clark
Jackie DeShannon
Lesley Gore
Groups with female singers such as
Supremes
Mamas & Papas
Fifth Dimension
Spanky & Our Gang
Blondie
Also lots of stuff by
Mary Wells
Mary Hopkin
Lots of lesser-knowns such as
Karla Bonoff
Lene Lovich (weird but good!)
Anyone else heard of Ginny Arnell?
And one of my top faves:
The Roches (Maggie, Terre & Suzzy)

Odd, Finegan...I like all of the ones you listed too (except for 5 that I did not remember) But I also like the 3 I mentioned as well.

So tell me, how do you feel about the wondrous Lady Gaga? [cool]

Never heard anything by her. I wouldn't even recognize a picture of her.
And in my typical resistance against new stuff, I never would want to.

I like some new stuff, but i hate her. I call her Lady Whore Whore.

Same here! Which new stuff you are talking about?

I like some country(Faith hill, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flats, Martina McBride, etc), and groups like the frey, Bon Jovi, guns n' roses(Chinese Democracy), and cold play. I still though prefer older stuff on the whole, as its most what i buy today.

OK, it's 28 minutes, so I'm not sure anyone's watching all of this, but this defines "clit rock," as Jim so eloquently words it.  If anything, this thing has to inspire a music that sucks thread on its own.

A little old school Guns N' Roses.  Just saw Adler's Appetite on Saturday Night and got to meet GN'R drummer Steven Adler.  The barely pubescent version of me would have been unnerved at meeting a member of Guns N' Roses, but the 30 something in me was calm, but still a fanboy at heart.

"Dude, nice to meet you, good show tonight.  I've been listening to you since I was 10."

"Really, and you survived?" (while signing my copy of Appetite For Destruction)

"Yeah, I guess so, it's good to be alive."

(hand shake, followed by a hug and thanks, I met a childhood idol)  [headbang]

Just had to share this one, such an addictive song.  It's from 1982 and it Hughes/Thrall "The Look In Your Eyes."  Great 80's pop/rock song, and great vocals from Glenn Hughes.
