As I noted in the Jack Benny thread, WML is back on the GSN @ 2AM Central time, and as a coincedence, Fred Allen told a Benny joke: "3 great Americans were born this month; Lincoln, Washington and Jack Benny...Lincoln is on the penny, George is on the dollar, and Jack has the REST of the money!"
I like Allen's humor, and he was a big figure in radio for a decade....the show last nite was from season 6...Jayne Mansfield was the mystery guest...she adopted a Cockney accent but was guessed pretty quick as 'Will sucess Spoil Rock Hunter" was BIG in NY City at the time and Arlene's Hubby, Martin Gable was in the cast.
I've Got a Secret was kind of a yawn as Paul Anka was the celeb guest. I was struck that he was shorter than little Gary Moore.
