TV and radio writer Madelyn Pugh Davis died on Wednesday April 20. She was 90.

With partner Bob Carroll Jr. (d. 2007), Madelyn co-wrote every episode of I LOVE LUCY (1951 - 1957), the first 2 seasons of THE LUCY SHOW (1962 - 1964), and about half of the 1-hour I LOVE LUCY episodes that aired as part of the DESILU-WESTINGHOUSE PLAYHOUSE (1957 - 1960). With Desi Arnaz, Madelyn and Bob wrote and co-created THE MOTHERS-IN-LAW (1967 - 1969), and the writing duo reunited with Lucille Ball to contribute some of the better episodes in the last four seasons of HERE'S LUCY (1970 - 1974).

I remember reading that after about 4 seasons she and Carrol hit a writing wall. That's when the Ricardo's started traveling and including celebs playing themselves. My faves from that period are the William Holden show (where Lucy lites her nose) and of course, the grape stomping show featuring a real Italian woman that did NOT love Lucy. Their fight was only 1/2 acting!
