Barrie Maxwell reports today, in his latest column at DigitalBits.com...
Quote
The studio [Sony] has also gathered the eight volumes of chronological Stooges shorts into "The Three Stooges: The Complete Collection" for release on November 30th. That's 190 shorts from the period 1934-1959 on 17 discs.

Barrie confirms that his information came from a Sony-Canada press release.

Investigating further, at this time, Sony is only making this box set available in Canada. If you go directly to Amazon.ca, and search for the item, ordering information will come up. If you link to the DVD set from here, it returns a truncated page that says the box set is "currently unavailable;" the set appears to be blocked from US availablility.

Here's Sony's package artwork from Amazon.ca...

17 discs correspond to the cumulative number of discs contained in Volumes 1 thru 8; no additional features have been added. This is only a repackaging of the prior eight volumes.

When/if the product becomes available in the U.S., we'll post updates.

I'm not usually one who gets worked up about box art, but boy, that's rather uninspiring.

If they could come up with some awesome box art, maybe they could sell boxes, so we can put our already purchased DVD's in it.  Well, it's a thought...

They did that with the Lord of the rings trilogy. For like $3 you could order a box to put all you dvd movies in.

Has there been any news for The Three Stooges Complete Collection being released in the United States?

How is this any different from The Three Stooges Collection, volumes 1-8, which is already available?
