Shemp Howard will be the topic June 9, on the internet ShokusRadio program "Stu's Show," 7PM - 9PM Eastern. Scheduled guests are Joan Howard Maurer, Paul Howard, Shemp's granddaughter Jill and daughter-in-law Geri. June 9's show is streamed live, and will take phone calls during its 2nd hour; thru the week following, it will be repeated several times.

ShokusRadio will update its site soon to promote the show.

Regarding the June 9th broadcast, ShokusRadio host Stu Shostak says he'll focus on Shemp, but also wants to discuss the Shemp to Besser transition.  Stu says he thinks that is appropriate given the June 1st release of the final Shemp and Besser shorts (Volume Eight).  In addition to the other guests already mentioned, Stu says Lon Davis (author and editor of Stooges Among Us) will also be appearing on the June 9th show.

So, did anyone hear this show? I had to be out at a Sons of the Desert meeting, so I'll have to catch a repeat.

How was it? Any comments?
Did anyone here call in to the show?

It looks like show's are archived on the site. It doesn't look like yesterday's show is up yet, they only have up to April 2010, but it'll eventually be up on the site.

According to this schedule, the show is being repeated nightly for the next week, as is the usual procedure for these shows.

Perhaps it has not been archived where it can be downloaded yet, but we should still be able to hear it.

It was good to hear the participation of Brent (via email) and Scott R. (called in).

Interesting comments on DeRita and especially Besser by some of the participants.
Good Shemp stories.

Perhaps next time he plans to have any of these guests on, the host should plan an extra-long show. With all the guests and material to be covered this show was too rushed.

Interesting comments on DeRita...
Yeah -- the comments convinced me that DeRita was a member of the Stooges for one primary reason -- because Norman Maurer liked him.  Did anyone else get this impression?
