THE AFRICAN QUEEN, March 23
on:
March 17, 2010, 10:37:07 PM
One of the greatest films of all time, THE AFRICAN QUEEN (1951), finally makes it to DVD & BluRay next week, March 23. A highly recommended acquisition for your library.
Release of this classic has been delayed by confusion over rights, and particularly, the years spent accessing and restoring the original camera negative elements & audio. Here's a short video segment, from a restoration featurette on the upcoming DVD set, that gives an idea of the journey this film has been through the past few years.

Wow, I can't believe it took this long for THE AFRICAN QUEEN to come out on DVD.
I wonder what the excuse for GREED and THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS is?
