Tonto!  He always seemed like a cool guy to hang out with. Smooth swagger.

I know everybody says Homer's "doh" was influenced by James Finlayson.  Perhaps it doesn't go beyond the Scottish accent, but I hear James Finlayson in Groundskeeper Willie as well.

Great Simpsons stuff!  I love when Groundskeeper Willie gets mad and tears his shirt off, and we see he is all buff! Sometimes they do that with Flanders, too.

Groundskeeper Willie is probably my favorite (he appeals to my Scots heritage, I suppose), but a very close second has to be Dr. Zoidberg in Futurama:

Of the simpsons Bart makes that show.  This came out when I was in middle school and I had a Cowabunga shirt to go with it.  Very cool!

Many good choices here, but the first that comes to mind is Sgt. Carter (Frank Sutton) of Gomer Pyle. He was a classic sidekick indeed.

All due respect to the great Noel Neill, but Phyllis Coates was perfect in the role!

And yes, that is Ann Doran, the 'Duchess' from THREE SAPPY PEOPLE (1939).

Oddly enough, I have never watched this one. Never seen them play this Superman series on TV, other than Youtube which I don't view much.

I gotta say that Robin from the classic '60s Batman series was one of the best.  I also love Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show.  The first 5 seasons of that show are the absolute best.  After Barney left, the show went downhill.  The only thing good on the show after Barney left was Goober.  He was another good sidekick.  I liked that one episode where Goober did his impersonations (walking like Chester, etc.).  Great stuff!

A couple of things.

1.) Awesome choice.  Love this show.  There's definitely a few Stooge like slapstick scenes in some episodes.

2.) Christina Applegate was SMOKIN' back then!

A good sidekick up until the bitter end, that is, when the Lone Ranger & he were surrounded by hostile Indians. The Lone Ranger said, "Looks like we're done for, Tonto", & Tonto replied, "Whadya mean 'we', white man?!"
