Woman on Street (hint - she does a 3 face slap with her pocketbook in response to some census questions ending with "Most important, what's your phone number?")

Offline Gritto RhumBoogie

That is a tough one.  How about a hint- what kind of nurse and where?
That will be all, Ralph.

Since I started participating in this quiz, I've noticed how many supporting actors appear in several Stooges shorts as characters without a name. This woman is apparently one of them.

I thought I gave a pretty good hint with the census reference. To the best of my memory, there were only 2 shorts that involved them being census takers; one with Curly & one with Shemp. There are, however, some Joe Besser shorts that I either haven't seen or I last saw when I was a youngster (hundreds of years ago).

Here's another hint. Sgt Hugh Dare was an army drill sergeant ("Everything happens to me"). In the same short, the Stooges were greeting card salesmen who tried to sell cards to his wife.

I gave out this question back in January 13, & now I can't find my notes, & don't recall what kind of a nurse she was or where. Sorry.

Another good looking tomato, Virginia Hunter. There was a very good article & interview with her in the THREE STOOGES JOURNAL not long ago.

I'll try this one, but I could only find two appearances with all 3 Stooges. Luckily, he had names and large parts in each of them:
Sgt Mullins
Chopper Kane

Offline RICO987

Dick Wessel was:

Sgt Mullins in Punchy Cowpunchers

and

Chopper Kane  in Fright Night.

You are correct. According to this quiz's rules, it's now your turn to ask the next one. Or would you prefer to wait for an engraved invitation?

Offline RICO987

Soitenly not.  Now that I know the rules, I have one for you:

Moe: Now, listen grapehead, I'll explain this so even you can understand it

I have one episode in mind although I believe Moe said this in at least two shorts.

Offline Mike Lipincranz

Pardon My Scotch......where Moe tries to explain which direction is to the right..... ???

Are you sure this cabinet is in competent hands?

If I'm not mistaken, it's derived from the Latin - no spicka engle-iss
