I have in my collection a tape of the 1941 film version of 'Hellzapoppin' starring one of the craziest comedy teams of all time, Olsen & Johnson. The film is based on their Broadway stage show where pretty much anything goes for a laugh and co-starred Martha Raye and Shemp Howard of the Three Stooges. Olsen & Johnson's brand of comedy was the inspiration for shows like Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. The movie is available from different outlets on DVD and is definitely worth checking out if you like classic, crazy comedies. Also worth searching for is the sequel to 'Hellzapoppin', 'Crazy House' where Olsen & Johnson return to Universal to make to make another movie and the entire studio goes into a panic. Shemp is also in 'Crazy House'.

They have made several references to this film on 'The Simpsons', but I can't remember any right now!
