The
Riviera Theater in North Tonawanda, NY will be holding it's annual Stooge Fest on September 5th, 2009.
http://www.rivieratheater.org/events/riv_event_stooge07.htmKeep in mind they may not be showing original 35mm prints anymore. I've since moved 1000s of miles away, but the last one I went to in 2004 had one print and the rest were projected via DVDs (they showed the newly released at the time colorized discs which the audience gobbled up.. BLAH).
Either way I went consistently every year from the early 90s up until then. It's always a treat with lots of prizes and a bunch of enthusiastic Stooges fans. The Riviera is also a fully restored theater with a working Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. One of the hosts of the event (either Joe or Lenny - I forgot who and what their last names are) usually gets the evening started by starting to play the Stooges theme on the organ as the shorts start. It's really a hoot to see it in a historic theater like that - the same way they were shown during their original exhibition.
Now only if I could find something similar in California...
