Shemp suffered a stroke in 1952.. Does anyone know between which episodes or during which episode he had the stroke? What was the severity of it? It seems that Shemp looks rather pale and disoriented in subsequent shorts.

The correct info...
 - BOOTY AND THE BEAST was not in production when Curly died on Jan. 18; its script is dated April 1952; the new footage was filmed in May 1952
 - When Curly died, filming had wrapped on HE COOKED HIS GOOSE (1/7/52 - 1/9/52), and UP IN DAISY'S PENTHOUSE went into production (1/21/52 - 1/23/52) after the memorial service. Neither Columbia or the shorts dept. suspended production in recognition of Curly's death; Moe, Shemp and Larry were not given time off.
 - Home of Peace Memorial Park is in east Los Angeles, not San Gabriel.
 - The "phone call" story is a work of fiction.

Good grief. What motivates that kind of thing?

What part is the "phone call story"?
