Why Soitenly not!  I love the Shemp episodes as much as the Curly episodes.  My favorite Stooge is Larry.  But Shemp is awesome!  I know that most people acknowledge Curly.  No doubt that Curly is funny.  However, I can't imagine the Stooges without ever having Shemp.  Shemp was definitely one of the greats.  And besides, have you ever heard of anyone else named Shemp?
